So! What have our favorite foursome been up to since ENTER Numero Cinco? Just a wee bit o' globetrotting, that's all. Cap and Affa spent a couple of unbelievable weeks in Ireland in October. There are tales to tell and photos to share, so stay tuned. With barely enough time to change their Euros in for Canadian, the whole band was off to Toronto for InTO The Heart -- U2 Fan Fest. Those GTAers sure know how to get their party on. It was a tremendous success and mad props go out to everyone responsible for making it happen. The crowd at El Mocambo (where U2 played their first Canadian gig 22 years ago) was supportive and loud and filled with U2 fans from all over the world. UK, Belgium, and even Madtown, Wisconsin were representin'. Thanks to all who traveled from near and far to make the show such a fantastic experience for everyone involved. Photos from that gig will be posted on www.exit-band.com soon, so keep checking back. But in the meantime, please enjoy this mini-review, won't you?

EXIT came to rock and opened with Out of Control. Same stage. Same song. Same undeniable passion. Next was Shove. "The sound of release..." Maybe in 2025 a young band will open "EXITfest" with their version of this song. Pam kicked out the mothertrucking jams on Brick. Nikki took a breather during Finish Line, a cool instrumental with a slinky bassline. A double whammy of newer songs came with Or Die Trying and Hypocrite Fish Food. During Jukebox Song, Nikki sang "I'm not all that alone..." and indeed she wasn't, as the crowd sang along. My Money is another new track that shows how much EXIT are growing as musicians.

Next was a trio of covers: Bullet, Ultraviolet and Acrobat. The band seemed to really lose themselves in the music, especially during Acrobat. Of course, the audience went mental.

In Again began with a bit of Coldplay thrown in, and it was a perfect fit. Straight into Discotheque, complete with Affa's crowd-pleasing robot performance. More than one fan was overheard saying they liked EXIT's version better than the original. Perhaps it's because they left the boom-chas untouched.

Electric Co. was the last U2 song and the crowd wanted more EXIT. No better way to finish them off than with In My Youth.

By the end of the set, it seemed that everyone had witnessed something special. It wasn't just Captive going shoeless at the request of an enthusiastic fan. It wasn't just Nikki's flirtation with both crowd surfing and speaker-climbing. It wasn't Pam keeping the beat nailed down so that Affa could pogo her heart out. It was all these things and more. They said, "We'll go all the way, or die trying...", and no one doubted it for a moment.

If you're one of the many EXIT fans who are unable to make it to their shows due to geographical constraints, there are a couple of ways to get your fix online. You can join the Yahoo mailing list at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/EXIT-US/. Everyone there is very friendly, so please join and introduce yourself! Also, the band recently registered with the New Music Network at: http://newmusic.clearchannel.com/artist/exit. The more downloads, reviews and traffic they get, the better. So check it out!
