ENTER #10 -- 13 sep 2004

Long time no talk. Did you all have a good summer? Yeah? Glad to hear it. Say, while we've got you here, how about we catch up on some EXIT news. Sound good? Good!

Our search for a new singer continues! But in the meantime, we're putting together a kick-ass instrumental set with NEW EXIT and NEW U2, as well as some old EXIT tunes reworked to be instrumentals.

Just after expressing our interest in possibly playing an instrumental show, we were contacted by a local U2 tribute band called Joshua Tree, who asked us to open for them on Saturday, October 9th. This is the day before the U2 Convention in Ontario, CA. We're really excited about the opportunity, and hope some of you can come and check out the new set. Here's the 411:

Joshua Tree w/ EXIT

Date: Saturday, October 9th (John Lennon's Birthday!)
Time: 9:00 pm to 12:00 midnight (is where the day begins)
Address: 6620 Carnelian, Rancho Cucamonga. NW corner of Carnelian and 19th, next to the 210 Freeway

Etc: Tickets are $7 at the door or $5 pre-sale at http://www.U2JT.com; 21 and over, EXIT hits the stage at 9:00!

We'll wait while you go mark your calendars...

Are ya back now? Alrighty then, how about some more "new singer" talk? Take it away Affa...

We'd like to send out a huge thank you to everyone who has been supporting us during our search for a new singer. It is a hard road, but will ultimately be so worth the effort.

We have been auditioning non-stop since March of this year. We met a few singers that were a close match, but have yet to find the right person for EXIT.

It's a long process, and unfortunately finding the right person isn't the easiest task. We will not stop, and are determined to continue our search for as long as it takes. We're not messing around here, and although we've met with a handful of "almost right" singers, we're holding out for the "perfect" singer for EXIT. We don't deserve less than that, and neither do you.

On that note, Captive and I will be leaving for Ireland soon, to open up EXIT's search for a new lead vocalist to singers outside America. If there are any EXIT fans beyond LA's city limits that fancy themselves a singer, please contact us if you'd like to be considered for the position. And that goes especially for any singers in or around the Dublin area. We've already lined up a few auditions while we're over there, and the more people we can meet, the better! We'll be in town from 20 September through 3 October.

We feel like it is time to take a leap of faith. We know our perfect singer is out there. She may be in Canada or New York, or Dublin Freakin' Ireland. We are willing to do whatever it takes to make it work, no matter where she is from, because that doesn't matter to us anymore. The comfort of staying in LA is no longer a MUST. We're ready, willing and able. And all we need is a singer with the same level of commitment, drive and willingness to put it all on the line. Whether it means that we move, or she moves, or we split things 50/50 because of international visas...it doesn't matter. We're ready for the push. Are you?

Besides, how cool would it be if we found our singer in Ireland, the birthplace of the music that brought us all together? That's not a rhetorical question either. I really want to know, on a scale of Not Even Remotely Cool to The Coolest Thing In The History Of All Things Cool, how cool would that scenario be? My answer: REALLY EFFING COOL.

So drop me a line if you or someone you know fits the bill: affa@exit-band.com.

You heard the woman! Drop her a freakin' line!!! And be sure to check out the EXIT Yahoo Group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/EXIT-US. Cap and Affa will be posting updates from Ireland about their trip and their search. So go! Join! And stay current with all the EXIT news that's fit to print.

Until next time...
